If you check the Spark: Women on the Map option in the app, it will point out sites where women have played an important role in our past. Google worked with gender equality campaign group SPARK to add the feature, reports TNW, after it pointed out to Google that its doodles featured women only 17% of the time....

Guild Wars 2 OS X Beta: NCsoft, developer of the popular PC MMORPG franchise “Guild Wars”, announced today that its critically acclaimed Guild Wars 2, released last month for PC, is now officially available for Mac OS X. The Mac version is available to download through the game’s account management page after purchasing the title and will initially launch in beta. While Windows players already have a jump on Mac users, the developer confirmed the beta would run on live servers to allow seamless play between Mac and PC users....

Google executives are now on-stage for the second day of Google I/O to announce Google Drive’s launch on iOS today. Director of Google Apps Product Management Clay Bavor first showed off real-time collaboration. He also demonstrated image recognition and searching with Optical Character Recognition, which lets users convert images with text into text documents. Using Google Drive on iOS, Bavor searched for “pyramid.” He then received a personal picture from a vacation—even though it was not titled....

The Google translate HTML5 web app has been around for a while now and it works great, but the Google translate team has finally decided that the iOS market is too big to pass up making an app for. As a bonus, the new iOS app has a feature the webapp didn’t, voice-to-text. As usual, the app is free and will work on most iOS devices, not just the iPhone....
