I’ve heard from several readers that this type of thing is happening to them even after installing minor cumulative updates, too. I’ve had this happen to me. Since I deal with a lot of screenshots every day, I set my default to Windows Photo Viewer, and after the November Update, it was switched back to the built-in Photos app. It’s also worth noting that I set my default program for most music and video file types to VLC, and a major update might reset them back to Groove Music or the Movies & TV app....

The pixel-art title Ghosts’n DJs has received a new trailer and a release date in February. The title is a side-scrolling run and gun platformer that features the music of electronic artists Dr.Kucho! and deadmau5. NBC has renewed Good Girls for season 3. Created by Jenna Bans, the crime comedy drama series follows the trials and tribulations of three struggling Detroit women who successfully rob a supermarket. On March 3, Good Girls season 2 premiered. On Good Girls, Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, and Retta star as the three titular characters. As Beth Boland, Hendricks portrays her first notable TV drama character since her 80-episode run as Joan Holloway on AMC’s Mad Men....

It’s been a few months since Google released version 3.1 of its Drive app for iOS, and today an update in the form of Google Drive 3.2 is available for users. The changes are slim but something users will likely appreciate. In the latest version, Google says Drive is now faster at syncing data, and uploading files now shows a progress indicator as well as the destination for the file....

The new icons are bigger so you can filter search results without sanding down your finger. Google last month announced a bunch of enhancements to its search engine and today they confirmed via a blog post an overhauled layout on iPad and other (read: Android) tablets, just two days after the blog Digital Inspirations leaked the new UI. From now , running a query by visiting www.google.com in your iPad’s browser produces an iPad-optimized layout in search results....

More than a year ago, Apple’s sapphire supplier GT Advanced Tech announced that it was filing for bankruptcy under Chapter 11, with the company parting ways with Apple as part of the restructuring. Google today announced the release of its Calendar app for iPad, which was previously only available for iPhone, Android smartphones and tablets and on the web. The iPad version of Calendar will be a familiar UI to anyone that has used the app for iPhone, and also borrows from some of the user interface elements Google has implemented with its tablet app for Android. Google notes, however, that the app has been specifically optimized for iPad, noting that you’ll be able to search from the iPad home screen using Spotlight Search with the app....

A bipartisan bill designed to ensure more people receive government Emergency Alerts could see them broadcast in audio and video streaming services like Apple Music and Apple TV+… The proposed legislation was originally introduced in response to the false alert back in January of last year, where what was supposed to be a test of the Emergency Alert system resulted in a live message being sent. People on Hawaii were woken by a loud alert on their smartphones and a message saying that missiles were incoming....

Season 2 of Grey’s Anatomy is widely considered to be one of its best. It successfully juggled multiple engaging storylines, delivering a mix of drama and humor in equal measure while allowing the characters to further develop. It also featured some of the most gut-wrenching scenes in the whole series, which is really saying something. There was not one single character who got away without making viewers cry and by the time this season had finished, you could fill an entire swimming pool with their tears....

DC’s latest Birds of Prey comic series is being postponed to 2020 so that it can join the Black Label, their line of mature-rated comics. The new comic series featuring DC’s hottest crime-stopping crew was previously set to debut in October. Now, the title is being pushed back to give it a more “mature” tone, and to help tie in to the upcoming Birds of Prey film. In February of 2020 Harley Quinn and her merry team of misfits will be hitting the big screen in their own R-rated adventure....
