Gemma Chan is a British film, television, and theatre actress and former fashion model. Born in London and raised in Kent, Chan attended the Newstead Wood School for Girls and studied jurisprudence at Worcester College, Oxford. Following an update last month with real-time transit and driving details, Google Maps for iOS has today received another update. Today’s update brings the app to version 4.47 and includes new details for restaurants, additional transit updates, and more… With today’s updates, Google Maps for iOS now includes average wait times for “over a million” restaurants around the world. This feature shows the average wait time for each hour, as well as the time when the wait is usually at its peak that day....

Rewind back to 17th October 2012. Google announced that they’re holding an exclusive Android event in New York on 29th October, the very same day as Microsoft’s WP8 Launch. Many, including Microsoft insiders saw this as silly and deliberate. By that time everyone knew nearly everything about what they’re going to announce on 29th Oct. Initially reported on the GooglePixel subreddit forum by /u/KitchenPictures5849, the user said in a thread that the bug arose whenever a call was made to 911, which would lead to their Pixel device freezing. According to Google, it appears the glitch is due to the Microsoft Teams app being installed on Pixel devices after it conducted an investigation into the matter. The spokesperson said the bug only occurred for Pixel devices running Android 10 or above, whenever Microsoft Teams was installed but an account was not logged into the app....

On Wednesday, Google released their aptly named UI testing framework, EarlGrey. Having been using the framework in a few of their current iOS apps already for functional testing, it’s good to hear that the product has been validated before an initial public release. EarlyGrey offers a few key features to help differentiate it from other functional testing frameworks, the most interesting to me personally is the built-in synchronization feature. This means that when tests are being executed, they’ll automatically wait for “animations, network requests, etc....

You may recall that the Touch ID sensor was successfully hacked last year, using a technique where fingerprints were lifted from the phone’s casing followed by sophisticated lab techniques used to create artificial copies of the print to activate the sensor. The bad news is that the sensor in the iPhone 6 is vulnerable to the same methods – the good news is that security researcher Marc Rogers found the iPhone 6 version to be both more secure and more reliable … The improved security was revealed when Rogers tried using the same less-than-perfect fingerprint copies on the iPhone 5S and 6....

Over the last week, iFixit has been busy tearing down the latest Apple Watch Series 5. Now, they’ve released their first ever internal and X-ray wallpapers for the Apple Watch Series 5, as well as several older models. These wallpapers are available for the 42mm and 44mm models of the Apple Watch Series 3, Series 4, and Series 5. iFixit says that if you have the smaller 38mm or 40mm models, “the internals are a tad different, but these wallpapers should still show up just fine and look realistic enough....
