Google didn’t wait until the I/O conference that starts on May 15 and made official the redesign today, after a couple of leaks have surfaced recently. As you can see from the pictures, the new user interface is somewhat card-based, with bigger images that make the overall appearance much cleaner. The Android team says that it is now easier to find the content that you’re looking for, be it games, music or movies....

Google has added yet another official application to its iOS App Store portfolio: Google Analytics. Analytics is Google’s popular service that allows website owners to manage and view data such as page views, demographics, and the technologies users utilize to access the website. The iPhone app also has the neat Real Time reports feature that allows website owners to view how many people are on the website at the current time....

We’ve already seen a couple of Chinese Android phones copy the iPhone X notch, but a report today suggests that Google is planning to do the same thing. The notorious GravityRAT spyware, which initially targeted Windows PCs, now also enable attacks against Macs and Android devices. Remote Access Trojans (RATs) are so-called because they masquerade as legitimate apps (the Trojan part) and then permit the compromised machine to be accessed remotely … Cybersecurity company Kaspersky describes the GravityRAT malware as ‘infamous’ because it has been used in attacks against even military targets, and enables a huge amount of control....

Marvel fans only got a single Guardians of the Galaxy movie to fall in love with Baby Groot before the angst of adolescence hit in The Avengers: Infinity War. But in the newest comics, Groot is already on to the next mandatory stage of growing up: he’s gone full punk rock. We can’t say for sure what story Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will tell, or how closely it will stick to Groot’s originally planned ascent from a small twig belonging to its father, Groot, through infancy and adolescence to young adulthood....

Marvel have released a new Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 TV spot, this one focusing on the mind and temperament of Baby Groot. The tree toddler has been a fan favorite ever since the credits rolled on the Guardians’ first outing, and Marvel have capitalized on that in the marketing for the sequel. They’ve highlighted his newfound cheekiness in almost all of their marketing materials thus far, playing up how ridiculously cool look, although director James Gunn has been keen to point out the de-aged tree isn’t just a marketing ploy....

Gotham has finally unleashed Shane West’s incarnation of Bane and is taking heavy inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Introduced as Eduardo Dorrance, Gotham’s Bane initially had very little in common with the classic Batman villain and altered Dorrance’s backstory in a way that made him a former military colleague of Jim Gordon’s. Unmasked and seemingly on Gordon’s side, the ex-soldiers worked side-by-side in pursuit of the Riddler, before it was ultimately revealed that Dorrance had been playing Jim all along and had his own, significantly more sinister, agenda in mind....

GT Advanced Technology has given an update on the status of its contract to supply Apple with sapphire displays for the upcoming iPhone 6 displays. According to the information provided with the company’s Q1 2014 financial report, Apple has already made three of four payments to GT Advanced for the sapphire, and GT notes that so far it is on track to meet demand. Apple struck a deal with GTA last year to manufacture the sapphire displays that are expected to appear in the next-generation iPhone at a new plant in Mesa, Arizona....
