AdSense allows publishers to easily place advertising on their sites, with Google offering mobile apps to track views and revenue. Google today announced that it is killing the Android and iOS clients, with the web positioned as an upcoming alternative. The Inside AdSense blog (via Android Police) today announced that it is “sunsetting the current iOS and Android apps.” This is despite “more than a third of [users accessing] AdSense from mobile devices....

The sixth season of Grace and Frankie released in January of this year and brought us a whole new season of new highs, low lows, and new characters to make the season whole. After rolling out the features on Android in recent months, Google Photos on iOS is getting an editing overhaul this week. In October of last year, Google Photos debuted a completely redesigned photo editor for Android users, which includes AI suggestions, adjustments for colors and blur, and typical editing tools such as crop and filters. Months later, in April 2021, Google also released an advanced video editor to Photos users, which allows video cropping, rotation, filters, brightness/contrast changes, and a whole lot more....

Google’s Mapping event is happening in San Francisco right now and, as expected, the company just announced that its enhanced 3D maps experience would come to both Android and iOS. Google already offers its Earth app on iOS. With Apple clearly ready to supplant Google’s Maps tiles in the iOS Maps App, Google could try to insert Maps data into the Earth App. While Apple has always had full control of the actual iOS Maps application design, the backend has belonged to Google....

Gotham wrapped up in 2019 after five seasons but one lingering mystery was left unresolved - the fate of Bruce Wayne’s clone, 514A. Introduced as an experiment by Dr. Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong) in his Indian Hill facility - provided for by funding from the Court of Owls, -514A’s purpose is largely a question mark, but fans were drip-fed enough information to paint a decent picture. Gotham’s Court of Owls enlisted Hugo Strange to research into the resurrection of the dead....

According to a new report from Variety today, Apple has tapped public relations veteran Brian Bumbery to serve as its Director of Publicity for Apple Music. The move comes as part of what Variety calls a “larger transition” at Apple Music amid Jimmy Iovine’s move to a consulting role… In the past, Bumbery has worked with the likes of Metallica, Green Day, Chris Cornell, and Madonna, and spent eight years at Warner Brothers Records....

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 brings back Karen Gillan as Nebula, but it wasn’t always supposed to be that way. Nebula was one of the main villains of the first Guardians of the Galaxy, pursuing the heroes and battling them throughout the film. The character is expected to share more scenes with her adopted sister Gamora (Zoe Saldana) in Vol. 2 as she joins up with the heroes. Nebula will have her own arc in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol....

Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director James Gunn has had a big week, as he was finally able to share and discuss the newest trailer for the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The Guardians 2 trailer, which Gunn confirmed is the final one for the sequel, showcased everyone from the main cast. Their chemistry together, which was one of the biggest reasons that the Guardians franchise got off to such a rousing start three years ago, looks to be as strong as ever....

A security researcher has created hacked Lightning cables that allow someone to take over a computer as soon as they are plugged into a Mac or PC. Although the first version was a one-off, the researcher — known as MG — has now shown they can be factory-produced… Motherboard had a demo of the handmade cable over the summer, verifying that it did what it claimed, and reports on the latest development after an online chat with MG....

The iPhone running iOS 6 boasts Darwin Kernel Version 13.0.0. We can also see that the processor is an ARM S5L8950X. Interestingly, that is a full release above the most current developer version of MAC OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. The XNU build is also higher (21XX vs 2050.5.8): The Samsung 5L8950X ARM processor is most likely manufactured at the same fab in Austin where Apple’s other Ax processors are built. The S5L8950X is a step up from the S5L8940X on the previous iPhone and the S5L8945X on the ‘new’ iPad but we’re not sure what that means in terms of cores, processor speed or fab size....

The infamous Harley Quinn may have started as a villain in Batman’s universe, but she’s put her evil-doing ways behind her. And to prove it to Batman, she’s joining up as his newest partner to find a mystery killer who’s out to frame her for murder. Even for Harley Quinn, being forced to prove her own innocence could have come at a better time. As if it wasn’t enough that Harley’s mother was recently diagnosed with cancer, someone has gone to great lengths to make it seem like Harley is not only not completely over her ex, the Joker, but out to frame him - and is willing to kill to do it....
