The sixth season of Grace and Frankie released in January of this year and brought us a whole new season of new highs, low lows, and new characters to make the season whole.
We see Grace and Frankie remain the best of friends (regardless of their new relationship statuses) while running their businesses and getting into a little bit of trouble along the way. They’ve also introduced us to new characters that fully round out the sixth season’s cast. From lovers to annoying CEOs, let’s take a look at 10 new faces we’ve met this season on Netflix’s Grace and Frankie.
MICHAEL MCKEAN AS JACK
Michael McKean makes his first appearance in “The Trophy Wife” as Jack. He’s a business professional in the music world who meets Frankie while bidding on a pair of shoes worn by Jerry Garcia at a charity function. The two played cat and mouse while bidding for the shoes and it ended in a date.
Jack and Frankie really hit it off and could have been endgame if Frankie’s ex Jacob didn’t come back in the picture. Nevertheless, fans are hoping he comes back for season seven. McKean has been in Better Call Saul, Goldie and Bear, Smallville, and more!
ANGELIQUE CABRAL AS LIZ
The sixth season was a big one for Barry and Brianna. Brianna is a commitment-phobe who is terrified of long-term commitment but the thought of losing Barry is too much to bear. Him becoming a sperm-donor for his friends Erin and Liz threw a wrench in their relationship but it’s what Barry wanted to do for himself.
Liz is Erin’s wife who is portrayed by Angelique Cabral. You may have recognized Cabral from her work in Life in Pieces and Undone!
KEITH POWELL AS JORDAN
One of the more famous guest stars in the sixth season is Keith Powell. Powell only appears in one episode but his presence creates an impact as he’s Bud’s biological cousin. Since Bud and Coyote are adopted, Bud didn’t know his blood-family until he met Jordan.
And as it turns out, Jordan was in need of a kidney, something Bud seriously considered doing. And while Jordan never took Bud’s kidney, fans are hoping the two cousins see more of each other in season seven.
Powell is most known for his time as Toofer in 30 Rock alongside Tina Fey and as Richard in About a Boy.
CHRISTINE WOODS AS JESSICA
After six seasons, we finally see Coyote find love with a woman named Jessica. Funny enough, Jessica was Bud’s ex-girlfriend from college who seemed to have an entirely different take on their relationship than she did, but that’s for another time… Jessica and Coyote seem to have a lot in common and more importantly, she gets along swimmingly with Frankie and Sol, which makes Coyote’s life easier. It’s not always easy explaining that your parents were married for over 20 years and got divorced because your dad fell in love with his business partner after all.
Played by Christine Woods, it looks like fans of Grace and Frankie will see more of her in season seven due to her advancing relationship with Coyote. Outside of the Netflix show, Woods as been in About a Boy, The Walking Dead, and Hello Ladies.
THE CAST OF SHARK TANK
It was a real treat for Grace and Frankie fans to see the two best friends on Shark Tank. After creating the Rise Up (a toilet designed for those who have a hard time getting up from the toilet), the idea was genius enough to land them a spot on Shark Tank.
The Netflix scene was shot exactly how it’s done on the actual show Shark Tank and had all the hosts looking to learn more about the Rise Up. Lori Greiner, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, and Rohan Oza were all in attendance, which was fun for those who were fans of both shows.
Unfortunately for Grace, she decided to opt-out of their one and only offer by Mark Cuban but it was a wild ride while it was happening.
VELLA LOVELL AS NICOLE
We meet Nicole briefly towards the end of the season when Trust Us Organics acquired Say Grace. She sits down with Brianna and Barry to discuss the terms of their relationship since they’re co-workers who also date. The meeting didn’t go well in Brianna’s eyes but Lovell did a great job as the dry and curious Nicole.
Many viewers may recognize Vella Lovell from her time on the hit show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She’s also been apart of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and The Big Sick.
BROOKE D’ORSAY AS CHELSEA
Chelsea only appears in two episodes in the sixth season but they were instrumental episodes for Grace after meeting her at a charity event. Sadly, due to Chelsea’s young age and beautiful looks, Grace wrote her (and her ideas) off as vapid and stupid. Grace was forced to apologize, of course, and even tried helping her with a business idea. She realized that by calling the younger women mean girls, she was, in fact, being a mean girl herself. Nevertheless, Chelsea is played by Brook D’orsay. D’orsay is most known for her time on the Hallmark Channel, Royal Pains, 6Teen, and Gary Unmarried.
ELLIOTT GOULD AS DR. ROGERS
Dr. Rogers is only in one episode but he plays a large role. He’s the one who tells Sol he has cancer but due to Sol’s age, Dr. Rogers suggests Sol not treat his cancer and just ride it out. At Sol’s age, going through the treatment process can be quite painful and tedious — something that isn’t worth it when you’re older. However, Sol can’t live a full life knowing he may have cancer growing inside of him so he carries on with the treatment.
Dr. Rogers is played by loved actor Elliott Gould. He’s been apart of the Ocean’s Eleven franchise, Friends, E/R, and many more since the early ’60s.
MARY STEENBURGEN AS MIRIAM
Mary Steenburgen did a fantastic job of playing Nick’s ex-wife and assistant, Miriam. She’s similar to Grace in a lot of ways actually, which is why the two get along so well. Due to her closeness to Nick, it’ll be interesting if we see her in season seven (especially with Nick in jail for the meantime). Her time was short but it was cherished.
As many know, Steenburgen is a big-wig in the acting world. She has been in movies like Step Brothers, Wedding Crashers, and The Proposal and has been acting since the late ’70s.
CASEY WILSON AS TANETH
We meet Taneth after Grace accuses her of stealing Say Grace’s scent and suggests throwing a lawsuit at her. But as it turns out, it was Grace who stole the scent. In the scene, Taneth assumes Grace is an alcoholic for being too drunk to remember things and will only drop the case if Grace gets the help that she needs.
In real life, Casey Wilson has been apart of American Dad!, Atypical, and The Hotwives of Las Vegas.
