Grace and Frankie are one of the best BFF duos on TV. They are a shining example of women living their best lives despite their age and circumstances. The two independent women thought everything was over after their husbands left them but what they soon found out is that their lives were just beginning.

Throughout the Netflix series’ six seasons (Season 7 is set to come to Netflix in 2021), we’ve seen Grace and Frankie create businesses, empower women, and find love. But we’ve also seen them do some pretty crummy things to each other and their respective families. Keep scrolling to see some of the worst things these women have done in Grace & Frankie.

GRACE: INSULTS A YOUNG WOMAN AT A CHARITY EVENT

It’s no secret that Grace has a complex with age. She’s been lying about her real age for years and despises the fact that her husband Nick is younger than her because she thinks people judge their relationship.

Due to her own insecurities, Grace made fun of a young woman she met at a charity event simply because she was young and married to an older man. She referred to her a “vapid trophy wife” and called her business idea “stupid.” Sadly, the young woman heard Grace’s harsh words and the two had an awkward conversation afterward.

FRANKIE: ALLOWS HERSELF TO BECOME LEGALLY DEAD

After Frankie damages her bank card, she goes to the bank to get it sorted out. But instead of leaving with a new card, she learns that she’s actually legally dead. As it turns out, she lied to the post office and claimed that she was Frankie Bergstein’s child because Frankie had died. From there, the post office legally notified the social security department and pronounced Frankie as dead. As silly of a mess-up as this was, Frankie’s “death” caused a huge disruption in Grace’s — and even Sol’s — life. Frankie couldn’t drive or use her bank card, and when she’s emotional, all hell breaks loose.

GRACE: PRIDES HERSELF ON BEING A BAD MOM

The whole “I’m a bad mom” schtick ran its course for Grace. Over six seasons, it’s been made apparent that Grace is not a “kids” kind of person. It’s honestly surprising she even had children.

She doesn’t spend time with her grandchildren (nor does she remember their names), she tells Frankie she hates kids after she’s forced to sit at the kids’ table at Bud’s wedding, and she showed up drunk to Mallory and Brianna’s graduation. It was funny at first but after five years, it’s just a little sad.

FRANKIE: FORGETS THAT SHE RECEIVED SOL AND ROBERT’S WEDDING INVITATION

To be fair, Frankie was devastated when her soulmate Sol left her for his business partner. Maintaining a friendship with a person she loved and wanted to grow old with was hard for her to do. And after Robert and Sol announced that they wanted to marry, Frankie became a little flustered. So flustered, in fact, that she made a big deal about not being invited to their wedding. The absence of her invitation created a huge argument between Sol and Robert but as it turned out, Frankie did get the invitation — she just tossed it in her junk pile of art paper.

GRACE: TREATS FRANKIE POORLY BECAUSE OF HER OLD FRIENDS

In the second season of Grace and Frankie, the two women are still getting accustomed to each other. They’ve grown to like each other but there are still drastic differences between the two. Nevertheless, we still see Grace’s old personality come out  — especially in “The Test.”

This episode was the first time Grace was going to get together with her former girls’ group since the divorce. And as a group of mean girls, they judged Frankie and her way of life, which influenced Grace to behave similarly. Thankfully, she realized her wrongdoing by the end of the episode, but Frankie deserved better by her friend.

FRANKIE: PARKS IN A TOW-ZONE

Frankie is in her own world most of the time, which is endearing and usually inspiring. But there are times where her need for being a free-thinker gets the best of her. After having a hard couple of days, Grace and Frankie decide to go out for a night on the town in “The Bachelor Party.” But as the night was dwindling down, Frankie realized that everything around her was changing for the worse (like her former favorite bar). As the women left the bar, Frankie realizes her car had been towed. She parked in a tow-zone, creating yet another obstacle the women had to face in the middle of the night.

GRACE: CONSTANTLY MAKES AGE AN ISSUE

As we already mentioned, Grace is 80 years old and hates this fact. She doesn’t feel 80, she doesn’t look 80, and she loves to remind people about it. However, she constantly finds herself in situations where age becomes an issue.

Grace doesn’t want to face the truth that she is an older woman and her body needs some help. She never asked for help when she had a hip replacement, when her arthritis was flaring up, or when her knees were giving out. Instead, she gets herself into these compromising scenarios that totally could have been avoided if she was just honest. The conversation of age is also a huge wedge in her and Nick’s relationship.

FRANKIE: MORTIFIES BRIANNA IN THEIR BUSINESS MEETING

No one was more excited than Frankie was that her natural lube was going to be sold in stores worldwide under the Say Grace brand. Sure, she wanted $9 million for her recipe but what mattered is that women everywhere were able to buy an affordable lubricant that was healthy for them. But after she finds out Brianna changed the formula and added palm oil, Frankie decided to rebel (even though she already signed the contract). In one of their many meetings, Frankie embarrassed Brianna by pulling an aggressive performance stunt that not only ruined the business meeting but demeaned Brianna.

GRACE: MAKES FRANKIE FEEL LIKE SHE ISN’T A “REAL MOTHER” BECAUSE SHE ADOPTED HER KIDS

Probably one of the most hurtful things Grace has said to Frankie is that she didn’t know what it was like to be a mother because she never was pregnant. Frankie and Sol had to adopt their boys after they had problems conceiving, which weighed heavily on Frankie’s heart in “The Elevator.” Hearing Grace say something so cold and vile reduced Frankie in tears. To make matters worse, Grace didn’t even realize what she said was horrible.

FRANKIE: TAKES FAITH TO THE MEXICAN BORDER

Frankie was thrilled to become a grandmother and see the magical cycle of life through her daughter-in-law and son’s eyes. But when she got the chance to babysit little Faith, Frankie let her curiosity get the best of her. With a dead phone and no idea where she was, she accidentally drove all the way to the Mexican border. All the while, Bud had no idea where his mother or daughter disappeared to, which obviously worried him. This little mishap created quite a problem in Frankie and Bud’s relationship.
