On January 16th, the third season of Grown-ish airs. Season 2 was filled with drama like no other: breakups, makeups, broken friendships, academic troubles, etc.
Audiences were left with a lot of unanswered questions regarding our favorite friend group at Cal U. With cliffhangers in excess, it’s important that all the loose ends are tied up throughout the upcoming seasons undetermined amount of episodes.
What will happen between Aaron and Ana?
One of the biggest plotlines throughout the past season was the complicated relationship between Aaron and Ana. Starting off as political enemies, then semi-friends to an unexpected short-lived situationship, their relationship shocked everyone. If having to deal with the complications of a new attraction wasn’t enough, the added scrutiny of their friends didn’t make it any easier.
Toward the end, of the season their fling ended but it was clear that feelings were not fully resolved. Even though the door has closed on their time together - even temporarily - it leaves audiences wondering where they stand.
Will Sky be able to run track again?
Toward the end of season 2, we see Sky get injured while out. Despite it not being a series injury that threatens her health, it does impact her track career. Sky and Jazz are attending Cal U on an athletic scholarship. If she is out for a long period of time or doesn’t heal fully, what is next for her? Will her scholarship stand, will she be temporarily benched?
Even though it isn’t the main focus of the recently release one minute trailer, we do see Sky walking (presumably) healed from her injury. Hopefully, we’ll see more of her recovery and possible comeback in the new season.
Will Nomi be punished for her relationship with Professor Hewson?
One of the major sub plots throughout the sophomore season was the developing relationship between Nomi and her professor/mentor Paige Hewson. From assignments to advice to attraction, these two’s relationship was nothing short of complicated.
After realizing that her needs weren’t being met, Nomi breaks things off. Thinking that she was free and in the clear, while waiting for a call regarding an internship, Nomi is blindsided by a call from Cal U’s administration. Not knowing whether or not she will have to deal with the repercussions keeps us on the edge of our seats.
What’s next for Vivek?
Throughout the series, we’ve seen Vivek go through many changes from being the go-to dealer on campus to exiled from his biggest clients (and so-called friends).
This left him living on the couch in the Hawkins dorms. Because of this, Vivek realized who his real friends are. After such a humbling season audiences are left wondering what’s next for him. Will he continue to deal? Will he focus on school? Will he meet someone this upcoming school year? We don’t know but hopefully, we’ll see more of him soon.
Will Dre ever trust Zoey again?
After getting caught for cheating, Zoey has to deal with the repercussions of her actions, which includes getting cut off. Figuring out how to live on your own is already hard enough let alone without the support of your parents.
Through season 2, Zoey made strides by getting a job, working on her friendships and a good amount of self-reflection. Despite all of that, her relationship with her dad has only barely improved, leaving audiences wondering where their relationship will lie in the following season.
Will Sky and Junior continue “dating?”
No one expected Zoey’s quick witted, no b-s friend to have a soft spot for her nerdy and overbearing younger brother. First, hitting things off in last seasons premiere flirting and eventually dancing together at a club, audiences knew that this pairing was an unexpected force to be reckoned with. Later on shocking the ladies of the group by being in a bathtub together for “self-care.”
Whether the two embark on a long term relationship, are an on-again-off-again fling, or somewhere in-between, we’ll be taking in every moment of it.
Will the friend group stay intact?
With the excess amount of drama, secrets and overall stress, this group has had its fair share of ups and downs. Whether it’s a new relationship, a lie or something in-between it takes these eight (nine including Doug) a while to adjust.
Throughout this upcoming season, there will be new trials and tribulations but the real question is will the friends prevail or sink under pressure?
What will happen with the Zoey, Luca and Aaron love triangle?
Since the beginning of the series, there has been a not at all subtle tension between Luca and Aaron because they were both fighting for her affection. In the end, Luca won the battle, but after the season 2 finale, it was clear that the war is not over.
Before jetting off to Europe for a career starting opportunity, Zoey cuts off her relationship with Luca while also reopening the door to her feelings for Aaron. Revisiting this relationship created more tension and anticipation for the upcoming season than the others.
Will Ana & Zoey’s Friendship be ok?
One of the most memorable moments from Grown-ish thus far was the short but brutal war between Ana and Zoey.
Zoey and Aaron in season 1 had an undefined situationship, and once she chose to be with Luca Aaron moved on and eventually him and Ana were somewhat together. When hearing the news Zoey took her frustrations out on Ana for breaking girl code. This behavior took a toll on the group, leaving audiences wondering what will happen when Ana hears about Zoey’s recent rendezvous with Aaron.
Who’s Pregnant?
The main teaser for this season is that someone is pregnant, five months along to be exact. With five possible options, it leaves audiences wondering who it could be. If it’s Zoey, is the father Aaron or Luca? If it’s Sky or Jazz, will they lose their track scholarship? If it’s Nomi or Ana how’d they keep it from the other girls?
This twist was unexpected and will make audiences even more so excited for the premiere.
