Duchess Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are looking into the idea of moving to the City of Angels for the summer of 2020. Markle’s mother still lives in Los Angeles and the couple is already looking into making a couple of friends of their own. Not to mention, Meghan is on the lookout for a new agent and is wanting to get back into the Hollywood scene.
On January 8th Prince Harry and Markle announced that they would be stepping back from the senior royal duties and the public eye to try and live a more normal life. The Queen and her extended family then held an emergency meeting and Queen Elizabeth II finalized his financial dealings with her grandson. Even though Meghan Markle has been getting much of the negativity regarding their stepping down, Prince Harry seems to be happy to be along for the ride, embracing his new, commoner life. After a rough start to the New Year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided that it would be best for them to split their time between the United Kingdom and Canada.
According to E!, the royal couple has been looking for a new residence out in Los Angeles. A source explained to the news outlet that Prince Harry and Duchess Markle are currently in the early stages of planning a move to Los Angeles for the summer months. Markle had high hopes that they would be able to spend a good amount of their time in California which also happens to also be Markle’s hometown and where her mother, Doria Ragland, still resides.
It was reported that the prince and his wife had been looking at homes and options of possible residences to view. The couple was also said to be in the middle of interviews for their new security teams. The Duke and Duchess would like to get all the information they possibly can and see if the logistics add up for a move. According to the source, Markle also had a long list of non-negotiables when it came to looking for in a new family home. Markle’s top two demands were to be able to hold meetings at her house but also be able to host her friends for nights in.
The couple recently had a television special aired on ABC called, Royal Divide: Harry, Meghan, and the Crown where many of the couple’s friends appeared in it to defend the prince’s decision to protect his family. Anglophiles can only speculate the toll that the prince has had to endure since the loss of his mother, Princess Diana. In the end, Prince Harry has spoken out saying that he may not have always made the right decision - but this decision was the right one for his family.
