Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted in Miami for their first public outing since they decided to leave the Royal Family behind. The royal couple has since been laying low in Canada as they waited for the controversy to die down.
It was announced on January 8th that Prince Harry and Markle would be stepping back from the senior royal duties and the public eye to try and live a more normal life. The Queen and her extended family then held an emergency meeting and Queen Elizabeth II finalized his financial dealings with her youngest grandson. Even though Meghan Markle has been getting much of the disapproval regarding their stepping down, Prince Harry stood by her side, embracing his new, nothing special life. After a rough start to the New Year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided that it would be best for them to split their time between the United Kingdom and North America.
Since the hullabaloo after their shocking announcement that happened almost exactly a month ago, the couple has made their first public appearance together as reported by Page Six. Prince Harry and Markle were keynote speakers on Thursday, Febuary 6th, at a very exclusive JP Morgan event. The event was held in Miami’s South Beach at the 1 Hotel which was known to be a luxury stay. According to the source, their appearance was kept under wraps and the event coordinator had to hire extra security for the two headliners.
The event was on behalf of JP Morgan AIS (Alternative Investment Summit) which is held annually and attended by billionaires such as Bill Gates and Alex Rodriguez. South Beach seemed to be a nice break for the couple as they are currently living in their $14 million Canadian mansion. Earlier in the week, the two were reportedly laying low from the media while enjoying yoga and dog walks with their son, Archie. It was still an unknown how much the royal couple were paid to make an appearance, but it could possibly be over six figures.
Both Prince Harry and Markle are currently searching for a new CEO for their Sussex Royal charity while also jetting to Los Angeles to try and find a house where they can spend their summer months while also being closer to the Duchess’s mother. It was reported that the royal couple has looked into a gated community in Malibu dubbed “Billionaires Beach.”
