Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire is one of the most action-packed movies in the franchise, with the Triwizard Tournament bringing some amazing moments onto the big screen. The film sees the franchise really kick up a gear from family-friendly magic fun to the dark side as Lord Voldemort officially returns.

However, it isn’t all doom and gloom with dragons and mythical creatures. This Harry Potter movie also focuses more on romance, adding even more depth to each of the main characters.

As ever with blockbuster movies like this, Goblet Of Fire has been picked apart and analyzed by everyone, from critics to major Potterheads. However, there are still moments that some people have missed.

Dancing Feet

The Yule Ball is one of the most memorable moments in Goblet Of Fire, with the massive dance being a tradition during the Triwizard Tournament. Throughout the Ball, we see different characters dancing around, including Harry Potter himself.

However, unlike other characters in this scene, you might notice that you never really see Potter’s feet. The reason for that is because Daniel Radcliffe learned that he wasn’t quite a natural dancer, although that proved to be a good match for the character.

Nagini

As we mentioned earlier, Goblet Of Fire sees the Harry Potter franchise really turn into a more serious set of movies. That much is clear from the opening scene where Nagini is shown alongside Wormtail as they begin to plot for Voldemort’s return.

But if you watch right from the beginning, the creepiness starts before that. Nagini actually appears when the Warner Brothers logo pops up. The snake can be seen sliding past in the reflection, which is a clever opening as it transitions into the snake moving to start the movie.

Macarena

When the Beauxbatons students are first introduced in the movie, they enter with an incredibly elegant dance. Instantly showing their beauty and grace, they quickly become a hit with all of the Hogwarts students who are watching on inside the Great Hall.

However, later on in the movie, they are slightly less elegant as they bust out a cheerleading routine for Fleur Delacour. That might seem relatively normal, but if you watch closely you will see they are doing a version of the popular party dance, the Macarena.

Deathly Hallows Symbol

The idea of the Deathly Hallows is something that comes up later on in the series. However, the symbol that becomes so well known is actually shown in Goblet Of Fire. It’s not obvious though, therefore many people miss it, but as can be seen in this entry’s picture, this was clearly a hint about what was to come.

It’s a blink and you’ve missed it type of situation that happens while Dumbledore stares into a cabinet. On the left-hand side, there just happens to be a few items that when put together look just like the classic Deathly Hallows symbol.

Magical Seven

Throughout the Harry Potter franchise, the number seven is something that has serious importance. Not only is it the number of Horcruxes, but there are countless examples of the series splitting things into this number.

It is clearly done intentionally by J.K. Rowling, who had input in the movies as well. Goblet Of Fire also got the number seven treatment, with Mad-Eye Moody’s trunk. There are seven locks around the trunk which keeps the real Moody trapped throughout the entire film, which isn’t just a coincidence.

Underwater Living

The underwater scenes in Goblet Of Fire are amongst the very best in the entire franchise, and they certainly pushed the actors to their limits. The scenes might not last too long within the movie itself, but it actually saw the actors underwater for an incredibly long time.

Daniel Radcliffe spent over 40 minutes underwater during one period as they swam around inside a huge tank of water. A big blue-screen background was then added to make things look realistic, and divers had to be on hand with air tanks to allow the actors to stay submerged.

Basilisk Puppet

One of the reasons that the Harry Potter movies are so fantastic is the use of practical effects. An example of that is when the dragons are shown inside the cages during Goblet Of Fire after Hagrid sneaks in Harry to give him an advantage.

The crew actually reused the puppet that was created for the Chamber Of Secrets for the basilisk. They used that to construct a full-sized dragon, adding in the ability for it to blow real fire, making sure that the clip was as realistic as possible.

Dobby Cameo

There is a lot going on during the Quidditch World Cup as the wizarding world enjoys a festive atmosphere. Wizards and witches from all around the world descend upon the field, along with a few house elves that appear as well.

One of which appears to be Dobby. It’s a quick glance as he and another elf end up walking past, striding on their own llamas. It would certainly make sense, after all, Dobby is a free elf by this point, and why wouldn’t he want to check out the World Cup?

Credits Joke

The post-movie credits are often something that most audiences members voluntarily skip out on. However, that’s a shame as sometimes amazing moments take place within them. That’s certainly the case for the Goblet Of Fire, with a hilarious little joke taking place within the credits.

Because the film uses several dragons in one of the levels of the tournament, the movie decides to put in a joke about them. It stated that no dragons were harmed during the making of the movie, which is something that tends to be brought in when real animals are used in filming.

Dream Rock Band

During the Yule Ball’s rock and roll situation, the wizarding world shows that they have their own musical taste. The rock band Weird Sisters play on stage as the party really kicks in, but this isn’t just a trio of random actors that were cast to do this.

No, it is actually a dream rock band bringing members of Radiohead and PULP together into one band. Jarvis Cocker is the lead singer and actually wrote the song, and he’s joined by his PULP bandmate, Steve Mackey. While Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway make up the other members.
