The company has now announced a fully functioning prototype of their self-driving car which it plans to test on the San Francisco Bay Area roads beginning with next year. The company said to following: Google’s current prototype of the car seems to have everything it needs to be on the road – the autonomous driving system and traditional vehicle parts like braking, lighting and steering. At the moment, it looks exactly like a prototype, but the company is already looking for auto industry partners that will help produce a more mature model and release it to consumers....

In a post titled “Apple’s clean energy plans still cloudy despite coal-free pledge,” Greenpeace praised Apple on its blog for significantly improving clean energy policies, but the environmental organization still gave the company low scores for its energy choices. A new Greenpeace International analysis released today, and it claims—despite Apple’s commitment to make its data centres coal-free and 100-percent renewable energy operated—the folks in Cupertino still lack “a plan that outlines a realistic path to eliminate its reliance on coal to power its iCloud....

Ghost Recon Breakpoint was disappointing for everyone involved: gamers aren’t happy with what they got and Ubisoft isn’t happy with how it performed. There can’t be many occasions on which a huge tech company has added a new feature to an app – then removed it just 24 hours later after user kickback. But that’s exactly what’s just happened with an update to the iPhone version of Google Maps. And of all the unlikely things that feature could be, it’s a cupcake … In an apparent effort to encourage people to walk rather than drive, Google Maps started showing alternative walking directions when short driving directions were requested, complete with a note on how many calories you’d burn during the walk....
