The lawyer who helped launch the antitrust case against Microsoft 20 years ago says that that government antitrust lawyers are not ready to take on Apple, Google and other tech giants. He says the Justice Department is capable of conducting the antitrust investigations into tech companies, but isn’t well placed to actually litigate the cases … Business Insider interviewed Gary Reback, who was credited with spearheading the work leading to the US government’s successful antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft....

Google is well known for how it drops the axe on its communication applications. Therefore, it’s good to see that Google Duo is still around and is being updated with few features regularly. The video-chat application released alongside Google Allo which was quickly thrown under the bus. However, Google Duo stuck around and recently grabbed support for a 12-person video conference. Previously, Google Duo users could only chat with up to a maximum of eight participants....

Back in May, Google quietly marked the fifth anniversary of Photos with direct album sharing. Google Photos today is now getting a big redesign that modernizes the mobile app’s look, and very notably its icon. Update 6/29: The Google Photos redesign is widely rolling out for Android users today after immediately appearing on iOS last week. In technological aspects, Google is a very successful company in this field. Google has launched its own brand Smartphones, as you know, Pixel. There are quite some models of Google Pixel phones. Most recently, in 2020, August 03, Google announced to launch a new model Google Pixel 4A. The smartphone was released on August 20, 2020. It is only available in Black color and has gone through lots of testing. Apple’s recently open-sourced programming language, Swift, may be seeing itself get adopted into Google’s Android platform in the future. Sources have told The Next Web that Google is “considering making Swift a ‘first class’ language for Android”. Google’s mobile platform currently runs off of Java as its main language, and the inclusion of Swift isn’t seen as to replace Java initially. With Swift being open-source, Google could toy with Swift as it evolves to discover if it would even be a good fit for the Android platform, according to the report....
