Following the web last year and Android in September, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for iOS can now edit Office files. This capability is pitched as bringing the “collaborative and assistive features of Google Workspace to your Microsoft Office files” in a familiar interface. For example, an organization might still receive Word documents from clients and other sources, but otherwise use Google’s productivity tools for all internal work. Google updated its Google Maps app today for iPhone and iPad with one new feature on top of the usual bug fixes. With version 2.2.0, users can now share their locations directly to Google+ from within the Google Maps iOS app. Tapping the the share button will now provide a “Google +” option and users can also select specific circles to share with before posting. Previously users could only mail, message, or copy a location to the clipboard....

Does anyone believe that these leaks aren’t orchestrated by Google? Today Gizmodo and Engadget both got leaked information about the Nexus One handset from Google. Gizmodo got to play with one and compare it to the iPhone and the Droid. The Nexus One is thinner and lighter than the iPhone with a faster processor and better screen according to Editor, Jason Chen. The results on web browsing speed were pretty close, however, even though the Nexus one has a bigger screen....

Recently, mysterious devices surfaced on Geekbench which goes by the name Google Nocturne. We think it is an upcoming Pixel tablet from the OEM. There is a rumor that this new tab will be called Google Pixel Slate. Some of its specifications are mentioned in the benchmarking website. According to the Alleged Google Pixel Slate GeekBench Listing, the device will run Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. You can also see it packs 16GB RAM and a dual-core Intel Core i7-8500Y processor....

Gotham’s penultimate episode delivered a satisfying conclusion to the arc of main protagonist, Jim Gordon - next on the agenda is the Batman himself. Gotham’s fifth and final season is confirmed to end with an episode largely set in the future, giving a glimpse at the show’s characters at a more familiar point in the Batman story. As such, the second-to-last episode “They Did What?” was Gotham’s final opportunity to wrap up all the plot threads in the main timeline and bring everyone’s overall story to a fitting end....

As Apple and would-be sapphire supplier GT Advanced Technologies come closer to a settlement following the latter’s recent bankruptcy announcement, GT’s creditors will get to take a look under the wraps of the secretive Cupertino tech giant. As noted earlier today by the Wall Street Journal, Apple will provide GT’s creditors with documents regarding the companies’ arrangement in response to inquiries attempting to determine whether the proposed settlement is fair, or whether Apple is trying to take advantage of the situation....

Let’s face it: The Guardians of the Galaxy are terrible role models. Hulu releases a trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale season 3. Based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel, the dystopian drama series examines a futuristic post-civil war society in which fertile women become slaves. Great horror movies evoke visceral reactions from their audience, and Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Gerald’s Game for Netflix created one of the goriest, most brutal scenes during the 2010s. Flanagan’s film style is very sleek and creative, with an emphasis on visual imagery that lingers, seared into the minds of those who dare watch his movies. Beyond that, Flanagan has a knack for pulling truly gut-wrenching performances from his actors, and Carla Gugino’s performance as Jessie Burlingame in Gerald’s Game was a prime example of this....

Paramount Pictures continues to release promotional material for its upcoming Ghost in the Shell live-action feature film, adapted from the popular anime/mange series of the same name. Most of the film’s marketing continues to focus on Scarlett Johansson as the movie’s lead character - the Major - as do conversations about Johansson being cast in the role of a previously-Japanese character. Paramount has now released a series of motion posters spotlighting not only the Major, but several other integral characters from Ghost in the Shell....

General Motors CEO Mary Barra announced at Code Conference today where Apple’s Jeff Williams spoke that more than a dozen of its 2016 model cars will include support for Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto feature. Specifically, GM will ship CarPlay in 14 Chevrolet-branded cars being released this year including the $15,000 Chevy Spark. We first saw a version of GM’s budget-friendly vehicle sporting a version of CarPlay at WWDC 2014 last year....

Under the latest update of Google Play Store developer policy, Google has implemented a ban on several app categories which include cryptocurrency mining apps and apps that show disrupting ads, as per the Android Police report. Google’s Project Fi service will now work on tablets including iPads and other compatible data-only devices besides phones. There are no extra fees to add devices to a Fi plan and data only costs $10 for every 1GB you use. That varies from many mainstream carrier plans with charge monthly rates for data access. In the next couple of days, current users of Google’s MVNO will see an option to order a free data-only nano SIM from the ‘Your Plan’ section of the Project Fi website....
