Earlier this evening, the Oracle vs. Google lawsuit revealed Android’s revenues and profits for the first time. The same case has now revealed that Google paid Apple $1 billion in 2014 as part of its ongoing deal to be the main search provider—as in the one that resides in the search bar by default—on iOS devices. Specifically, Apple’s deal with Google gives it a percentage of the revenue that the search engine generates through Apple devices....

Following a launch of its new Gboard keyboard for iPhone back in May, Google today announced it’s making the app available to users and languages internationally while adding some other new features. The app allows users to send GIFs, emojis, Google searches and more and works like all third-party keyboards on iOS via an App Store download. Starting today, Gboard now supports French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal) and Spanish (Spain)....

Today, Google unveiled a new email solution called Inbox, which looks like a marriage between Gmail and Google Now. Currently available by invitation only, this new app takes bits from your email like purchase invoices and bank statements and groups them together for fast access. Like Google Now, Inbox adapts to the way you operate, highlighting key pieces of emails like flight plans, photos, documents and upcoming event information....

Google Maps often ties in with pop culture for special events or easter eggs, and apparently, there’s another one on the way. This week on Twitter, Google started teasing a new event for Maps which clearly hinted at something related to Mario Kart, with the bananas from the game littering the streets of a Streetview. Film studio New Regency is in talks to acquire the rights to Grasshopper Jungle, a YA adaptation to which writer/director Edgar Wright is attached. Grasshopper Jungle adapted from Andrew A. Smith’s novel of the same name released in February 2014, tells of a teenage boy named Austin struggling with sexual confusion, who accidentally unleashes a plague of invincible 6-foot-tall praying mantises with his friends. Set in Iowa, it’s an apocalyptic coming of age action story that also focuses on adolescent love and budding sexuality....

The Green Goblin has never been a fine figure of a supervillain, but Avengers of the Wastelands will apparently be taking Osborn’s deranged alter-ego to a whole new level. Even as a team raised in the Wasteland, the Avengers might not be ready for this kind of nightmare fuel. The future of the Wasteland was first introduced in writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven’s Old Man Logan comics. The literal wasteland is the product of decades of supervillain control after the Red Skull led a coordinated attack that destroyed the world as everyone knew it along with its heroes....

Grey’s Anatomy premiered on ABC in 2004, and for the first few seasons, the series had a relatively small - or at least normal-sized - cast. Flash forward to today, the hit medical drama’s main cast consists of so many characters that it seems even the writers and directors have a hard time keeping track. Remembering names is one thing, but this show has way too many characters now and the ones that audiences actually care for tend to fall by the wayside in favor of giving screentime to insignificant characters such as new interns....

Following a report last week that Apple was seeking to keep its involvement in its sapphire supplier GT Advanced’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing secret, today Bloomberg reports that GT Advanced and Apple have reached an agreement that will allow the two companies to part ways. Lawyers for GT Advanced said the deal “will save millions of dollars and solve most issues” and be an “amicable parting of ways,” according to the report....

Life Fitness equipment at the Equinox fitness club in Toronto now lets members pair Apple Watch to easily sync up fitness data during workouts. UPDATE: A spokesperson for Malwarebytes has confirmed that Clark’s behavior took place prior to his hiring at the company. The statement from Malwarebytes is as follows: The original story follows. “The alleged behavior happened before the individual was hired as a Malwarebytes employee. When we learned about the allegations we terminated his employment. Malwarebytes does not condone this type of behavior.” A Malwarebytes security researcher named Zammis Clark won’t be serving jail time after hacking into Microsoft and Nintendo servers and stealing 2,365 usernames and passwords from the respective companies....

A Harry Potter fan theory has suggested that Hermione’s cat once belonged to the Potter family. Hermione took ownership of Crookshanks before beginning her third year at Hogwarts. Crookshanks was a highly intelligent cat that proved to be useful in exposing a key enemy. Crookshanks was a ginger feline with a lion-like appearance and bright yellow eyes. He was half-Kneazle, which meant he had the ability to detect untrustworthy individuals. The magical pet was also highly independent which made him the perfect pet to take along to Hogwarts....

YouTube and TV aren’t hurting for ghost hunting shows, but none are on the same level as Ghost Adventures. This show has been going strong since 2008 and has so far aired well over 200 episodes and over 40 specials. It originally starred Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, and Nick Groff, but now consists of Bagans, Goodwin, Jay Wasley, and Billy Tolley. As is obviously the case with ghost hunting programs, some episodes are better than others....

The first reactions to Ang Lee and Will Smith’s sci-fi thriller, Gemini Man, lay lots of praise on the film’s technical elements.
