Devotion, the outstanding Taiwanese horror game which was removed from Steam after being attacked by Chinese censors, has now been preserved at Harvard University. The game launched on the platform just one year ago, but was only available for a single week before a firestorm of controversy brought it down. Devotion was developed by Red Candle Games, the fan-favorite Taiwanese independent game development studio that was also responsible for the excellent Detention....

Google updated its Gmail for iOS app today with the ability to swipe right or left to move between messages without going back to the inbox. Version 2.1 also includes the ability to enable edit mode by selecting a message in the inbox. Once in edit mode, Google said users could tap on messages to select. They can then archive, delete, etc., from the new actions bar, or they can just Cancel to exit edit mode....

To test Chrome, Google used Speedometer 2.0, a benchmark from Apple’s own WebKit team, which measures the responsiveness of JavaScript-based Web applications. The higher the score, the better the performance of the browser at handling JavaScript. Takeout users may have had their Google Photo files shared with strangers. The tech company sent out a series of emails to its users informing them about a bug that plagued Google’s systems between the 21st and 25th of November.
