The company said half of those games would see their first release ever on OS X today. Google loves to highlight its work getting Chromebooks into the hands of business customers and a lot of the time that also means a switch from Windows and Microsoft Office products to Chrome OS and Google Apps. It’s not as often, however, that we hear about companies that decide to replace their Macs with Chromebooks. Google, Samsung, and several other Android handset manufacturers are being sued by Rockstar, a consortium backed by Apple and several other tech companies, over alleged infringement of several search patents acquired by Rockstar from Nortel in 2011. Last year HTC reached a ten-year agreement with Apple as part of a patent infringement settlement. That deal would result in both companies licensing existing and future patents from one another, but it seems that agreement does not apply in this case....

Anyway, Google just released a new browser plug-in which will block all tracking about you on sites running their free Google’s Website Analytics. Being that Google Analytics is both free and one of the fastest growing Google Services out there used by webmasters around the globe, this is excellent news and a tremendous step forward for privacy. The Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on is available for all newer versions of browsers including Internet Explorer 7+, Chrome, and Firefox....

The Google Stadia gaming platform might be getting competition very shortly, as a report surfaced earlier this week that indicated Walmart might be interested in pursuing a streaming service of its own. Walmart is reportedly in talks with publishers and developers to launch a video game streaming service, although the details are obscure for now. The report, which was broken by US Gamer, states that Walmart is already in discussions with various studios about launching its own game streaming service to rival the Google Stadia gaming platform....

FiftyThree, the company behind the popular Paper app and accompanying Pencil stylus, reveled today a partnership with the Guggenheim Museum that saw a group of students use the Paper app for a year. The goal of the program with Guggenheim was to implore kids to think more creatively. Guggenheim Museum’s partnership with FiftyThree is also the first time its used anything digital in its educational initiatives.
