Google today updated its Google+ app for iPhone and iPad adding support for the higher resolution screens on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. In addition to the Retina imagery for the new iPhones, the app gains a few new features for both iPhone and iPad users in addition to the usual performance improvements and bug fixes. Other features in version 4.8.0 include the ability to “vote on polls from people and brands” and an option to share to Google+ through an iOS 8 extension (pictured right)....

Using Picnik you can now easily edit, retouch, add funny effects and stickers, change the exposure, shadows, highlights, etc., etc., etc. Picnik is one of the best out there when it comes to online photo editors – and now with the simple-to-use integration with Picasa Web Albums it’s a definite Wow! Google Translate is getting a bevy of new features today that will make translating on mobile easier. While Android gets a new feature that will get rid of the need to manually copy and paste into the Translate app, iOS finally gets an offline mode. Additionally, the Word Lens instant visual translation feature now works on both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The Android version of Google Translate has long had the ability to download language packages for offline translation when a cellular connection isn’t available....

Google has updated its Google Translate app for iPhone and iPad today with a few new features that were previously only available to Android users. The app also receives a brand new UI that makes it fit more in with iOS 7 and the rest of Google’s apps. Version 2.0.0 of Google Translate includes support for handwriting input, allowing users to write words using their finger for 49 different languages. The app also adds translations for seven additional languages, including: Bosnian, Cebuano, Hmong, Javanese, Khmer, Lao, Marathi....

Google has released an update to their Shopper app conveniently giving users information on daily deals, including Google Offers. The update adds a “Offers” and “My Offers” tab at the bottom, along with the Shop tab you know and love. The Offers tab displays deals in map view that are available in your city. The deals you find can be saved in the My Offers tab for later use. Businesses, on the other hand, can publish deals through Google Places....

Gemini Man CinemaCon footage teases Oscar-winning director Ang Lee’s upcoming sci-fi drama. The project, which had been in development for a number of years before Lee came along, stars Will Smith in what should be one of his most fascinating and challenging roles yet. In Gemini Man, Smith plays 50-year old hitman Henry, who finds himself hunted by a younger clone of himself. The company has four 3-D scanning booths in different locations throughout the world – Dusseldorf, Tokyo, Santa Monica Place in Los Angeles and one in New York City’s Chelsea Market. And it seems that their business is booming, as they are set to open new locations in the United States in the near future....
