Google Play Music’s streaming music service has launched in India, undercutting Apple Music’s dramatically discounted subscription in the country, as both companies play the long game. India’s Economic Times reports that the service will cost Rs89/month ($1.38) for those signing up in the next 45 days, and Rs99/month ($1.53) afterwards. This compares with the Rs120/month ($1.86) cost for Apple Music. Google also seems to be working hard to include music from the region....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is well known for being humorous and not taking itself too seriously, and, while all the movies have some comedic moments, the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise has the most. Both movies are absolutely jam-packed with comedic moments that really make them stand out amongst the rest of the MCU. This is one of the main reasons that the original movie was such a huge hit, despite the fact that the Guardians weren’t well-known characters beforehand....

The first reviews have arrived for Marvel Studios and writer/director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The first Guardians of the Galaxy was something of a surprise critical and commercial success when it hit theaters in 2014, in the process evolving Gunn’s image from being the off-beat creator of such demented indie films as Slither and Super, into a household name, as well as fan-favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe filmmaker....

Apple’s Find My Friends app can be a really useful way to share your location with your partner, family and friends, but it relies on everyone having an iOS device. Google has just solved that problem by bringing its Trusted Contacts app to iPhone. The app first launched on Android last year. In addition to working across platforms, it also offers an additional level of control … Where Find My Friends is all or nothing – you either allow someone to track you or you don’t for the specified period – Trusted Contacts has a time-out feature which offers you a chance to decline a request....

The demands of using Google Stadia to play games in 4K might be too much for a lot of gamers, as a recent study suggests that the data cap on many Internet plans would be quickly used up by using the 4K version of the service. Google Stadia is an upcoming gaming platform that will allow players to stream games at their highest performance settings on devices that would normally be unable to run them....

It was just a matter of time before Google would have to announce a tablet of its own. I mean, if Microsoft has launched the Surface Tablet, Google had to do the same. And the rumors are already taking shape. Gizmodo Australia got its hands on the spec sheet and even a rendering of the device. These are unconfirmed, but since they seem to be very similar to other leaked info, there’s really no reason why we wouldn’t give them some street cred....

Here is what little I know, dropped in my lap this week by a loyal reader (you know who you are). There are two gPhones slated for release with the first coming in September and the second probably not appearing until after Christmas. General Tips Lenses are more important than the camera body A lot of first time buyers focus on more expensive camera bodies and completely disregard lenses. If you’re fine with just the kit lens for about a few months (supposing that’s how long you’ll need to save up for a better lens) then you’re good to go. But buying a very expensive camera body and then using it with cheap lenses is a bad move....
