Prolific artist AR7 has once again released wallpapers inspired by the Apple event artwork. The iPhone 12 event was officially announced earlier today and will be held on October 13 with a livestream from Apple Park. You can get hyped for the event by dressing up your soon-to-be-obsolete iPhone with AR7’s stunning wallpapers based on the event invite art. Following on from our Saturday post, these latest dummy models (which we believe to accurately represent the design of the real devices) give a sense of what the glass back design will look like for the whole lineup, spanning the 7s, 7s Plus and radically-redesigned OLED model (marketing names unknown). Thanks to Sonny Dickson for passing these along. It also rebuts some of the rumors we’ve seen circulating that the ‘7s’ phones would have a rear Touch ID sensor; these dummies clearly show that the devices largely resemble the existing iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, albeit with some tweaks like the glass material (which means no antenna bands in sight!...

The Wall Street Journal is out today with a quick story on the rollout and reception of Gmail’s new Smart Reply feature, and it comes with a few interesting bits of information and anecdotes from random users and Google alike — one of which is particularly humorous… The piece notes the variety of responses that people have had to the feature. One notes the feeling of dehumanizing the experience, and an actor noted that the replies felt a bit too casual for his liking:...

Since its launch, players have enjoyed this game very much because of its gameplay. In Godzilla: King of the Monsters, humanity has found a way to communicate with the Titans using a device called the Orca - and it can also be used to awaken them. Invented by Vera Farmiga’s character, Dr. Emma Russell, and her ex-husband, Mark Russell (Kyle Chandler), the Orca is initially being used with the benevolent Titan Mothra, but it’s then stolen by a group of eco-terrorists led by Charles Dance’s character, Jonah Alan....

We’ve covered Google Docs in the past when they added Drawing mode and Translation, but this is a whole new ball game. It’s not anything huge like Skydrive, but it’s Google branded and works with anyone who has a GMAIL account (which is most people.) If we’re lucky, this could be the first step towards a “gDrive” or at least Google equivalent to Skydrive. It’s always been frustrating attempting to upload things to Google Docs, only to receive an “incompatible file type” message....

Creating tour with the Builder is very easy, and you only need to install the Google Earth plugin, give the project a name, add an introductory photo and a description. Locate on the map where you want your story to begin, point a marker on that location, and describe the following places as you embed other photos and videos. As I continue to go hands-on with more products in the Philips Hue family, I have to say that the Philips Hue Tap is one that caught me by surprise. This is a device that allows you to control your Philips Hue lights using physical buttons, sort of like a traditional light switch, which to me sounded archaic and like the opposite of progress. Google this week has published a new version of its TensorFlow machine learning software that adds support for iOS.
