The arrival of the visually arresting live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell was immediately met with controversy. Many fans of the original Japanese anime took issue with director Rupert Sanders’ decision to cast Scarlett Johansson, rather than an Asian actress, as the Major, a one-of-a-kind hybrid human/cyborg black ops warrior who works for a division called Section 9 that protects a futuristic, cyberpunk Tokyo from technological extremists. Meanwhile, other fans decry other creative changes made in the film, which borrows and adapts aspects from the previous Ghost in the Shell animated films and source material....

Google Recorder Availability Google Recorder is available to install from the Google Play Store if you have an eligible Pixel device. And it’s a useful app to have on your phone. The app was initially only available for users of Google’s Pixel 4 devices. After a little while, users of Pixel 2 and newer could start using it. Google has announced a new tool for its iOS Google Apps users this evening that makes it easier to manage accounts and settings. Called iOS Sync, the feature will be integrated directly in to the company’s iOS Gmail and Drive apps and offer a variety of new management tools. For one, the service allows administrators to easily prompt their employees to enroll their devices when they log into a Google Apps service like Drive and Gmail....

Google today announced that it is revamping the Google voice search feature available in Chrome on the desktop. While users have always been able to search with their voice through Chrome, Google is attempting to make the service work more like it does through Google Search apps and Google Now on mobile devices. Chrome will now include “conversational search” with a brand new interface that doesn’t require users to click in order to search with their voice....
