The movie franchise based on the G.I. Joe toy line has certainly become a guilty pleasure for many. While neither of the two films are perfect, they certainly bring this world of super soldiers to the big screen in an exciting way. The character that grabbed the attention of many viewers was Snake Eyes. The ninja and assassin was definitely an interesting character, and now he’s receiving a spin-off. Here are five characters we want to see in the upcoming movie, and five that we don’t....

David Heinemeier Hansson recently brought attention to a potential issue with Apple Card applications, where his wife received a much lower credit limit than his own. Steve Wozniak also shared a similar story. The ‘algorithm’ was claimed by Hannson to be sexist and discriminatory. In a tweet, Apple card issuing bank Goldman Sachs has now released a statement in denial of these allegations. In its statement, Goldman Sachs says that Apple Card credit decisions are made on an individual basis and the credit line is individual to each applicant....

Google today announced a new beacon technology called Eddystone along with APIs that together it hopes will make it easier for Android and iOS-powered devices and beacons in close proximity to communicate with one another. Unlike iBeacon, Apple’s take on the Bluetooth-based protocol, Eddystone is open source and designed to be easily extendable, compatible with any device which supports the use of beacons. A new API announced alongside Eddystone, compatible with iOS and Android devices and available to Android developers today (iOS support forthcoming), uses inaudible sound emitted from device speakers and heard from other devices using their microphones to determine when other smartphones and tablets are nearby so data can be transmitted between them....

Gionee claims that its new smartphone has the largest capacity in the world, and that is probably true, as the single competitor that comes to mind is the little known Innos D600. The Marathon M5 comes with an extreme mode where 5% of the battery life can ensure up to 62 hours on standby. The iPhone 5 debuted last October and along with it so did the Lightning port. Since its launch there have been few third party accessories created due to Apple’s tight control over the the new technology. Today, the popular consumer electronics and car audio company, Scosche, officially launched their line of Apple approved Lightning accessories. While other companies are already offering official Lightning cables, this launch by Scosche is of particular interest because they are the first to offer both car chargers and wall chargers (5W and 10W) as well as a retractable cable....

The creator of God of War Cory Barlog believes that video game awards shows should feature less movie stars. The 2018 Game Awards featured several actors who have very little to do with the video game industry, with Christoph Waltz and Jonah Hill both presented awards for different categories. Cory Barlog has worked within the video game industry for almost two decades. He got his start working as the lead animator for Paradox Development on their game X-Men: Dimensions....

OnePlus has already rolled out stable OxygenOS 12 builds based on Android 12 on a few flagship smartphones i.e. the OnePlus 9 series. OnePlus’ OxygenOS 12 has merged with Oppo’s ColorOS 12 which means OnePlus smartphones will soon have features from Oppo’s custom interface before probably morphing into a single custom UI. Keeping that said, OnePlus users were quite happy with the stable OxygenOS 12 rollout but discovered that are some shortcomings with the update....

The latest update to the Google Photos app is a big one: it uses AI technology to add four new features, from resurfacing old memories to fixing sideways photos. The new features are available in the iOS app, Android app (shown above) and on the web. While the iPhone should recognize whether you’re holding the camera vertically or horizontally, there are times when this doesn’t work reliably. The app will now automatically detect photos which appear to be sideways and offer to fix them for you with one tap....

As demoed by Apple on stage, the latest instalment of Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero Live, is now available on Apple TV. It’s just like classic Guitar Hero, a three-lane rhythm based game, but modernised with better visuals, ‘real’ band members, enhanced crowd reactions, and more.
