Google has confirmed in a press release that it is acquiring Nest Labs, the company behind Nest smart thermostats and fire alarms started by Father of the iPod Tony Fadell. As part of Google’s ARCore announcement alongside the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Sony Pictures and Ghost Corps have now announced a new AR Ghostbusters title in development for iOS and Android devices. The news is confirmed on the Meebo blog, but a price for the transaction is not mentioned (although the company has been said to be worth around $100 million). The Meebo team says in the post that it’s “super jazzed up” to roll up its sleeves and “get cracking on even bigger and better ways to help users and website owners alike”. Google has taken another step toward protecting users from fishing attempts by releasing a new Google Chrome extension ‘Password Alert‘. The extension protects users from being Gmail account overused with other non-google websites. As soon as it detects that the password has been exposed to any non-google website/service, it prompts to reset password immediately. Whenever someone is victimized by phishing attacks, he/she does not know (many times) that they have shared their information with somebody else besides Google....
